About This Game

Save the Metal, Save the World, Save the Coffee!

Coffee Crisis is a neo-rogue brawler that puts you in the shoes of the only baristas on Earth with enough heavy metal in their veins to fend off an alien assault. Play solo or join up with a friend to fight across eight unique locations ranging from your Coffee House HQ to the far reaches of outer space. Go up against an army of wild alien enemies, and the humans they have brainwashed with a variety of weapons, special moves, suplexes, and coffee!

The Smurglian race has come to Earth and they're not leaving until they steal our three most prized commodities: heavy metal, free Wifi, and coffee. Crunch through fistfuls of alien meat as you stop their invasion, and enjoy random modifiers to the enemies and action on each playthrough. It's a totally unique cup of beat 'em up action every time you play!

Features

  • Tear off fistfuls of alien meat in Neo Rogue Brawler action!
  • Jam out with a pal in Local Co-Op Play!
  • Encounter random modifiers that could make you an invincible killing machine or summon a swarm of raging possessed cowgirls! You'll never experience the same cup of cosmic coffee carnage twice!
  • Bang your head to an incendiary heavy metal soundtrack!
  • Meet heavy metal bands Pyschostick, Lords of the Trident, Nile, and Terrorizer!
  • Rock out with retro metal influencers!
  • Already averted the crisis? Come back for more in Death Metal Mode, where the difficulty is cranked to 11!

So grab a hot mug and save the world! b4d347fde0

hard to tell what is happening, difficutly ramps up and drops randomly, Great music. This unique sidescrolling beat-em-up is a nice throwback to the retro days and plays really well! It's pretty tough so be ready for a challenge, but the game also gives you the tools like power ups/extra weapons to get through the levels. The soundtrack is awesomeeeee. Haven't played the 2 player yet, but that's on the list. You'll get your money's worth here if you'd appreciate a retro game with modern polish that is here to simply let you beat up aliens, cowboys, and yakuza thugs with a bag of coffee beans.. The plot is nonsensical, which is intentional, but it's also just plain bad. (And the text is annoying to scroll through, which really doesn't help.)

The controls are sluggish, too - there's a few frames between you hitting the jump button and the character actually jumping. And the difficulty ramps up quickly, which isn't fun. So you mash buttons (there's only one attack button, no interesting combos!) until you win or die, occasionally maneuvering to avoid the worst of the attackers. And there aren't any save slots - just codes. I get that this is recreating the Games Of Yore, but I *played* those, and save codes were the feature I missed least.. Childhood and Sega. Very fun and challenging game. It's nice to play yourself and with a friend. Beautiful graphics and great music, it's nice to spend time in the game.. Coffee Crysis is a cool game which you can play together. Cool music, cool graphics and effects, addictive plot.. First of all, I don't like coffee. It's just not my thing. But I do like brawlets and beat'em up-s from the 8/16 bit era.
I also happen to own the Megadrive version of Coffee Crisis and it's a breath of fresh air for a really good console. The guys at Megacat really did their homework and channelled the spirit of the classic beat'em ups really well. Of course it is not perfect but given it's a brand new game for a 28 year-old console: it's fantastic, it's precious.
I purchased the PC version when it came out and it's full of the same warm retro feel. The game does use the same authentic pixel artwork and feeling but obviously has "HD" elements just to give a bit of an extra to make it even better. There is transparency, filter effects, lighting effects, brand new music to make it appealing if someone wouldn't into the all-pixel and FM synth world and high resolution icons and messages.
Overall I really enjoy playing the PC release (actually on a Mac) but since it is re-made in Unity the platform makes absolutely no difference here. If I want a brawler with stunning graphics I can find plenty in the Steam store - but to actually play a retro themed one without firing my Megadrive up it is really great.
I do admit the fact I have grown up on 8/16 bit computers and consoles is one of the reasons why I like this game. The rest is the fluid gameplay and humour - I mean which game lets you to beat your enemies with a coffee bag?. As a native "yinzer" I have to say that this game hits all the right chords with me. Mega Cat's attention to the Pittsbugh culture makes this game not only fun, but also introduces the world to the pride that we Pittsburghers have for our city. I love this game. Yinz guys have to try it!
